Helena – Republican Tim Fox officially filed his candidacy for Attorney General today with the Montana Secretary of State. Four days before his first Campaign Finance Report will be due with the Commissioner of Political Practices, the Tim Fox for Attorney General Campaign also publicly announced raising over $42,000 in the first 28 days since his campaign kicked off on February 6th.
“It’s official,” said Fox. “With the incredible support of thousands of Montanans in all corners of our state, I’ve placed my name on the ballot because it’s time Montana had an Attorney General who will tackle our state’s challenges head-on. Building on our campaign’s early grassroots support, I look forward to visiting with voters throughout Montana to share my message of leadership, constitutional governance, state’s rights, responsible development of our natural resources, government transparency, and hard work.”
For the upcoming financial report due on March 12th, Fox announced that his report will show $42,538 in contributions donated in the 28 days between February 6 and March 5.

“Since our announcement on February 6th, financial support has flowed into Tim’s campaign at the incredible rate of over $1,500 per day,” said Tyler Matthews, Fox’s Senior Adviser. “After our current Attorney General’s silence on Obamacare, Montanans understand that our state deserves an Attorney General who will stand up for them against job-killing, budget breaking federal intrusions. They’re flocking to our campaign in droves because they know Tim Fox will protect their individual freedoms, crack down on sexual offenders, and fight for Montana job creation through the responsible development of our natural resources.”
Tim Fox has practiced law in Montana for 25 years, and is admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court. He lives in Montana City and is a partner in the Helena-based law firm of Gough, Shanahan, Johnson & Waterman.
