WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, is once again taking the lead in the U.S. House of Representatives as the author of a letter signed by 152 additional members of the House including 23 Democrats to the Secretary of Labor asking her to abandon a half-baked plan to undermine the American family farm.
“When the Department of Labor planted this seed, I doubt they expected it to sprout into a bumper crop of grass roots opposition from every corner of the nation,” said Rehberg, a fifth-generation rancher from Billing. “That’s because I doubt the bureaucrats pushing this rule have set foot on a family farm, let alone understand the unique challenges of running a family business. But even if they didn’t go to the farm, we brought the farm to them. In recent weeks, they’ve heard from tens of thousands of people, and now they can add another 153 Members of Congress to that list.”
